According to YouGov, a global polling company, Samsung Electronics managed to defeat Google to top the Global Best Brand Rankings list. Google was the top-ranked brand in 2021, but Samsung surpassed it in 2022.

The rankings reveal that Samsung Electronics scored 127 points and topped the YouGov Global Best Brand Rankings 2022. The list was announced on November 20. This is a pretty solid achievement for Samsung because of the fact that it rose to the top from being in fourth place in 2020, then getting placed second last year.

Google, the previous topper, scored 106 points and was placed second on the list. It was followed by YouTube (85 points), Netflix (59 points), and Shopee (51 points), which is a Southeast Asian e-commerce company. WhatsApp was placed in the sixth position with 50 points, followed by Toyota (41 points), Colgate (34 points), Mercedes-Benz (34 points), and Lidl (33 points).

YouGov rankings are based on multiple factors, including impressions, quality, value, satisfaction, and recommendations. It ranks the best brands in 38 markets, comprising 380 brands in total. As per BusinessKorea, “Samsung was ranked first in Korea, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and Ireland and ranked second in the UK and France.

Samsung got the fifth position in Germany, Australia, and Indonesia, sixth in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the USA, seventh in Brazil, and ninth in Canada and Denmark. Adidas and Nike, which were on the top 10 list last year, disappeared from the list in 2022. Toyota and Mercedes have risen to the top of the rankings.

The scores were based on YouGov's estimate of the 12-month brand ranking through September 2022. In total, 19 of the 38 markets ranked Samsung among the top ten brands for 2022. Thanks to Samsung's innovative mobile products, SmartThings apps, and other innovations, the company has managed to gain customer confidence and continues to excel in different departments.
