Samsung has launched The Premiere 5 projector in South Korea. The 4K laser ultra-short-throw projector was unveiled at CES 2025 earlier this year in Las Vegas, USA, and is now available for purchase in the company's home country.
The Premiere 5's unique touch interaction feature can be useful in a variety of usecases, including business, education, and home entertainment.
The latest version of Samsung's The Premiere projector features a triple-laser ultra-short-throw image projection system with 4K resolution. It can display up to a 100-inch image (diagonal) from a distance of just 43cm. Moreover, thanks to its unique design, it can project an image on any flat surface, including a floor, a screen, a table, or a wall.
It has an infrared camera and an infrared laser module to track your hands and fingers. You can touch the surface where the projector is projecting an image, and the system will respond as if you are using a touchscreen display. You can click things or use a pinch-to-zoom gesture to zoom in or out of an image or a webpage.
The Premiere 5 can automatically recognize its surroundings and adjust the brightness, colors, and contrast accordingly to offer optical picture quality without forcing you to tinker with too many settings.
It runs Tizen OS 9.0 with the One UI interface, bringing you access to all the popular music and video streaming apps. You can also control smart home devices in your home using the SmartThings app on The Premiere 5.
Samsung has launched The Premiere 5 (2025) with a price tag of KRW 1.99 million (~$1,383) in South Korea. People in the country can buy it from Samsung offline and online stores.
Heon Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “The Premiere 5 is a lifestyle-centric product designed to enable immersive experiences anytime, anywhere, beyond content. With its touch interaction features, it will set a new standard for screen experiences in everyday life, including home entertainment.“
