The Art Store is a digital marketplace designed by Samsung where users can buy digital versions of world-famous paintings and art pieces. These paintings come from world-class museums and art galleries around the world. Right now, the Art Store has more than 1,500 pieces of art, designed by more than 626 artists, and they are collected from 42 countries around the world.
The content available in the Art Store is collected from various time periods (575 AD to 2021) and includes Ancient, Renaissance, Baroque, Impressionism, Post Impressionism, and Contemporary art. You can find paintings by Claude Monet, Johannes Vermeer, Julia Contacessi, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Vincent Van Gogh.
Samsung has also acquired modern paintings and abstract artwork from various painters and art partners, including Hyun Kim, Etsy, Magnum Photos, Saatchi Arti, and The Van Gogh Museum.
The Frame TV makes the digital copy of the artwork look like a physical painting by adjusting the screen's brightness and colors to match the room's ambient lighting via built-in sensors. When the TV senses (using the motion sensor) when someone is has entered the room, it turns on the display automatically and starts showing the selected artwork or painting. When the person leaves the room, the TV is turned off to save power.
