Just a few months ago, Samsung shut down the beloved Samsung Messages app. Now, the company has announced that it is shutting down another app: Samsung Sound, which is used to control and manage soundbars and speakers.
Earlier today, Samsung sent a notice through the Samsung Sound app announcing that the service will shut down on March 31, 2027. The company noted that users can transition to the SmartThings app instead. This move comes less than a year after the Sound app was first launched.

Shutdown notice for the Samsung Sound app
The Sound app supports all Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-equipped soundbars and wireless speakers released in 2024 and later. It was originally meant to replace SmartThings for the company's audio devices, but it lacked a few key features.
Now, it appears Samsung has decided to scrap the dedicated Sound app entirely and fold its functionality back into SmartThings.
