In an interview series, EVP and Head of the Customer Experience Team, Digital Appliances (DA) Business at Samsung Electronics, Moohyung Lee, gave insight on how Samsung's Core Tech is helping customers reduce the burden of daily chores and improve quality of life.

Samsung unveiled Core Tech at IFA 2023, and since then, Core Tech has helped develop home appliances that add a new level of convenience to lives and perform according to users' choices. Shedding light on this technology, Lee said, “Core Tech is the driving force behind Samsung’s home appliances. Through Core Tech, users will get a glimpse into a future powered by unique, cutting-edge innovations.”

The company's four Core Tech values include Outstanding, AI-powered, Flexible Use, and Durable & Sustainable. With this in mind, Samsung has introduced refrigerators, washing machines, and home products to help revolutionize home appliances. For example, AI Ecobubble in washing machines offers optimized laundry performance, and then there is WindFree cooling that helps cool homes without blowing cold air directly.

Samsung aims to continue using LiDAR and 3D sensors in future products

Refrigerators and freezers make use of Twin Cooling Plus technology, which helps minimize temperature fluctuations using independently regulated interiors. The Bespoke Jet AI cordless vacuum is equipped with Clean Station technology, which automatically empties the dust bin after cleaning. Moreover, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo lets you wash and dry clothes in a single machine.

The Bespoke range of products offers customers the ability to customize their products on the exterior. Energy saving is also at the core of Samsung's Core Tech values. For example, Samsung's Dual Cook Flex Oven lets you cook two dishes simultaneously at different temperatures.

Sensors, data, and enhanced connectivity will pave the way for AI to facilitate the ease of use of home appliances across millions of homes using Samsung products. Lee said that Samsung will continue to use advanced technology such as LiDAR and 3D sensors across its home appliances to make life easier and smarter for users.

Samsung’s top acquisitions man returns as big deals expected

Samsung has not participated in the mergers and acquisitions market for more than 7 years, despite having more than $60 billion in cash that it could use to buy new companies. Its absence from this space was also partly due to the legal troubles of heir Lee Jae-yong, who only recently returned to the top […]

Samsung’s Bespoke fridges can open their doors for you

In the age of smart mobile devices, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles, manufacturers seem to be moving away from traditional door mechanisms. Grabbing handles and pulling on doors is slowly becoming a thing of the past, but Samsung is trying to stay ahead of the curve. Here is one example. Every one of Samsung's new […]

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

I'm a big fan of Samsung using proper nouns to label most of its home electronics. For instance, PC monitors names are no longer just a string of seemingly random letters and numbers. Instead, they belong to lineups named ‘Odyssey' or ‘ViewFinity.' It makes Samsung look better instead of coming across as a company that […]

Samsung has trained a Bespoke vacuum AI to clean up your floors

As odd as it sounds, Samsung's vacuum cleaners and select flagship phones have had something in common for a few years, i.e., bristles. The Sweeper Hinge mechanism employed by Samsung's foldable phones, for better or for worse, was inspired by vacuum cleaners. And now, Samsung's vacuums have one more thing in common with premium Galaxy […]
