Samsung made the decision last year to stop providing a charger in the box for its flagship smartphones. Customers didn't like it but they had no choice but to accept the company's decision.

It does continue to provide a USB-C cable in the box, even though the charging bricks are now missing. So if you're in the market for an official charger you can buy the 25W one from Samsung without a cable. It's going to cost you less.

Skip the cable and get a big discount

Samsung's most expensive phones don't come with a charger now. Recent reports suggest that the company may also stop shipping chargers with its more affordable devices. That's really not going to go down well with a lot of customers. Then again, there's not much they can do about it.

The 25W charger from Samsung is a good option. You may have already seen in our recent charging test videos that the 45W charger only provides a negligible improvement. So there's little reason to spend the extra money.

Samsung itself seems to be nudging customers towards the 25W charger. It won't sell you the 45W one without the cable, but you can get the 25W charger without the USB-C cable. If you buy the same charger with the cable, it's going to cost you $34.99. Skip the cable and get the 25W Samsung charger for just $17.99 from Amazon.

The obvious benefit here is that you're getting an official Samsung accessory. No need to take chances with dubious third-party chargers just to save a few bucks.
