Samsung debuted its latest stable version of Android customisation for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), with the Galaxy S26 series. Needless to say, the brand will offer it to older devices. To that extent, the company is beta testing it on the Galaxy S25 lineup and is expected to extend beta testing to other devices as well. That includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Yesterday, official firmware files for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 featuring One UI 8.5 were spotted on Samsung’s server, suggesting that the brand may release them soon. Now, the tech giant has created the One UI 8.5 beta program sections for the two devices on its Community forum (via Mohammed Khatri). It suggests that the company is preparing to open the One UI 8.5 beta program for these phones soon.

One UI 8.5 brings a redesigned user interface that looks less cluttered, more organised, and more modern than that of One UI 8.0. It is also more customisable, making it more convenient. Once Samsung opens the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it will go on for a few weeks before the brand ends it and releases the stable version.

It is worth mentioning that a One UI 8.5 build for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 leaked in the past. We installed it on our device and tested it out. You can check out our impressions on it in the video below.
