Green line issue continues to haunt Samsung smartphone users

We've seen several cases of Galaxy phones being affected by screen-related issues. Almost all affected phones feature a Super AMOLED screen, and green or pink lines appear on them automatically. Recently, Samsung announced a free repair policy for out-of-warranty Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series phones affected by the issue. However, those are not the only devices affected by screen issues.

Some Galaxy Z Flip 4 units also affected by green line issue on the OLED screen

A Galaxy Z Flip 4 user from India claims that the screen on their phone started malfunctioning within five months of purchase. The foldable screen has a green line on its top left side. The user claims the phone had no physical damage, and the green line appeared out of nowhere. This appears like a hardware issue from the company's side. When the user contacted the service center, the after-sales executives told the Galaxy Z Flip 4 user that the screen was not covered under warranty. However, we all know that the screen is covered under warranty.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Green Pink Line Issue

The service center reportedly denied the user free service to replace the affected Galaxy Z Flip 4 screen. When the user tried to contact Samsung via Twitter, they received no response from the company's social media team. Samsung needs to communicate clearly with its after-sales service network about servicing screens affected by green/pink lines. It must also expand the free service strategy to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy Z series phones.

If Samsung doesn't rightfully replace the screens on affected Galaxy phones, it could very well destroy its hard-earned reputation, especially among those users who have been loyal Samsung fans and spent a lot of money to buy high-end phones like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Recently, the company replaced an affected Galaxy S22 Ultra's screen for free even though it was out of warranty, so we're hopeful it will do the same for other affected devices.
