On Samsung smartphones, there is now a new update available for the Google Play System. While Google hasn’t shared the package size, after installing it, the Google Play System update date changes from 1 May 2026 to 1 June 2026 (via Tarun Vats).

We have received the update on our Galaxy S26 Ultra running One UI 9.0 beta in India. However, the same wasn’t the case on our Galaxy S25 running One UI 8.5. Considering that, we assume that it is available only for devices running the latest Android skin, at least at the moment.

To get the latest Google Play System update, go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play System update. Now, the phone will check if one is available. If it is, the device will show you Download and install. Once the download is complete, it will show Restart now. Tap on it to complete the process.

On a related note, Samsung is rolling out One UI 8.5 as well as the June 2026 security patch to Galaxy smartphones. You can check if either of them is available for your device by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. You may also want to get updates for these three Google applications.
