Since the beginning of this year, Samsung has increased the prices of several of its smartphones, with some models seeing multiple price hikes, most likely due to rising memory chip costs. You might expect those decisions to hurt the brand's sales. Surprisingly, however, Samsung appears to be the only smartphone company in India that is currently growing.
Counterpoint Research has published an analysis of the Indian smartphone market for Q2 2026. According to the firm, Samsung captured a 17.6% market share, the second-highest in the country during the quarter. What's interesting is that the South Korean tech giant was the only smartphone brand to record growth, both year-over-year and compared to the previous quarter (Q1 2026).

According to the report, the brand’s growth was driven by “healthy demand across its Galaxy A series and flagship S series,” as well as aggressive sales offers on the Galaxy A07, Galaxy A17, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A57, Galaxy S25, and the Galaxy S26. The brand seems to have recorded the highest sales from the INR 15,000 to INR 2,000 segment. It also says that the company strengthened its presence in the sub-INR 20,000 segment.
In the first position is Vivo with 19.5% market share (including iQOO). Right below Samsung is Oppo with 16.1% market share (including OnePlus). In the fourth and fifth positions are Xiaomi and Realme with 13.4% and 10% market shares, respectively. The South Korean tech giant is expected to launch its next lineup of flagship foldable phones tomorrow. These models should help it achieve greater heights in Q3 2026.
