Samsung has announced its updated Bespoke AI Washer and Bespoke AI Dryer home appliances. They can clean and dry an even wider range of fabrics effectively and efficiently. The appliances also feature a large touchscreen display, SmartThings integration, and an upgraded Bixby, the company's AI-powered digital voice assistant.
The company's new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup is now available in South Korea. The Bespoke AI Washer is available in capacities ranging from 10.5 kg to 13 kg, while the Bespoke AI Dryer, which has a matching design, is available in capacities ranging from 10 kg to 13 kg. The appliances will launch in more countries beginning this month.
The new Bespoke AI Washer features AI Wash+ technology, which uses multiple sensors to detect the weight of the laundry load, identify five distinct fabric types, and assess soil levels. It then adjusts the water level, detergent amount, and wash time accordingly. Samsung's previous-generation Bespoke AI Washers could detect cotton, delicates, and towels, while the newer washer can also detect denim and outdoor fabrics.
The upgraded Bespoke AI Dryer uses AI Dry+ technology to analyze moisture levels and temperature. It can detect four fabric types (Denim, Delicates, Normal, and Towels) and adjust the inverter compressor and heat exchanger for more efficient drying. Samsung claims that the new technology reduces drying time and energy consumption by 20%.
Both new appliances feature a 7-inch Smart Screen, an LCD touchscreen display that provides washer and dryer controls. It also learns users' laundry habits and suggests washing and drying cycles accordingly. In addition, it offers post-cycle reports for better insight into each load.
The appliances are compatible with Samsung's SmartThings smart home platform and can be controlled using the SmartThings app on phones, tablets, TVs, and other compatible smart home devices. AI EcoBubble technology can reduce the washing machine's energy usage by up to 70% by lowering the washing temperature when AI Energy Mode is activated. The dryer can also save up to 20% of its energy use with AI Energy Mode.
