Samsung has revealed details about the brand’s security patch for Galaxy smartphones and tablets for this month (January 2026).
According to Samsung, its January 2026 security patch for Galaxy phones and tablets packs fixes for a total of 55 security vulnerabilities. Among those, 23 come from Google (although two don’t apply to Samsung devices), 4 come from Samsung Semiconductor, and 30 come from Samsung Mobile. Samsung has marked one as critical, 28 as high-risk, and 3 as moderate-risk.
Yesterday, Samsung released the third beta version of One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Among many things, it brought the January 2026 security patch, making the Galaxy S25 series the first set of phones to get it. We expect the South Korean tech giant to start releasing it to other Galaxy phones and tablets in the next few days.
