Usually, Samsung’s home appliances offer one of the highest number of features on the market, leaving nothing to desire. However, that isn’t the case with the brand’s microwave ovens. They lack a crucial feature that the models from the rival brands, such as LG, have been offering for years, and is very crucial to gourmet lovers, and that is the rotisserie functionality.
Many people are fond of barbecued/grilled food (also known as ‘Kebabs' in some regions). The best way to make them at home easily, especially in regions like India where most people don't spend money on coal and wood barbecue sets, is in a microwave oven, which is something that most people in these countries buy, using the rotisserie functionality and the grill cook mode.
In this method, you put paneer or meat on a roasting spit (a long rod), place it in the microwave oven, and it rotates the spit horizontally at a slow pace so that the heat from the grill mounted at the top reaches all the parts of the food and cooks it evenly all around.
Many brands, including LG, have been offering microwave ovens with the rotisserie functionality for years now. Unfortunately, Samsung’s microwave ovens lack this feature. Instead, they come with the Multi-Spit accessory. It makes the food rotate vertically, and not horizontally, which means that the upper portion of the food gets more heat, as it is closer to the grill, and the lower portion gets less heat as it is further from the grill, resulting in unevenly cooked food.
So, anyone looking for a microwave oven to make barbecued food will steer clear of Samsung’s microwave ovens, even though they have many features that no brand is offering, including Ceramic Inside, which makes it easier to clean the insides. If the tech giant adds the rotisserie feature to its models, they won’t leave anything to desire, making them one of the best in the market. I, for one, am particularly looking forward to a Samsung microwave oven with the rotisserie feature.
