The Samsung Members app for Galaxy phones and tablets is a very useful tool as it offers many services, including the ability for the users to sign up for One UI Beta Program, access Samsung’s Community forum, check device details, diagnose it, know how to use the device, and get service-related help. Sadly, it will soon lose three options.
In the Samsung Members app, the South Korean tech giant has issued a notice. It says that the brand will soon release an update for the app, which will remove three very useful features from the Support section: My Products, Register, and Request Service. Let’s take a look at what these options do to understand how this update will impact you.
When you open the Samsung Members app, you will see three tabs at the bottom: Discover, Community, and Support. In the last tab, you will find many options. Among them are My Product, Register, and Request Service. You will see the first two at the top of the page, and the last one after scrolling down a little.
My Product, as the name suggests, shows you all the Samsung products registered to your Samsung account. Beside each listing, you will see a button resembling the letter ‘I.’ Once you tap on it, the app shows the device’s basic details, including Product Type, Product Name, Model Name, Serial Number, etcetera.
Sa
Register, on the other hand, allows you to register a new Samsung product to your Samsung account. Once you tap on the Register button, you will see three ways to register a product: QR Code, Wi-Fi, and Manual Input or Barcode. Once you register a product, it will appear in the My Product section.
As for Request a Service, as the name suggests, it allows you to request a service for your device in case there’s something wrong with it. However, at the moment, once you tap on it, you will see a webpage saying “We have a new home. Please visit Samsung Digital Service Center,” redirecting people to another page. So, it looks like Samsung has already shut down this service, and soon, it will remove the option from the app.
At the moment, there’s no information about why Samsung is removing these options. The most logical explanations are that the brand is removing these because very few people are using them, or the company will offer these options in other apps. Samsung says that it has plans to release the Samsung Members update in the last week of June.
