According to multiple reports, Apple is developing an iPad with a foldable display. Some of those reports suggested that the Cupertino-based tech giant will source the device’s foldable display, which will be an 18-inch unit, from Samsung. Well, we have a new report about the tablet, and it too suggests that Apple will use Samsung’s foldable display for the upcoming iPad.
Bloomberg has published a report about Apple delaying the launch of the iPad with a foldable display from 2028 to 2029 as the brand has come across challenges during the tablet’s development. In this report, the publication claims that Apple will source the foldable display for the upcoming iPad from Samsung.
Samsung has been making foldable displays for over seven years now, mainly for the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series phones, which is longer than any other company. It has also most likely produced the highest number of foldable displays to date. Plus, the South Korean tech giant keeps innovating and implementing new technologies in the foldable display space.
Considering that, and the fact that Apple has been choosing Samsung as a major supplier for OLED displays for many of its products, it is no surprise that Apple is knocking on Samsung’s door for the foldable display for the upcoming iPad.
