Just when we thought we saw everything there was to see about the upcoming Galaxy A54 before its release, Samsung spilled the beans on an official case for the device. The Smart View Wallet Case for the Galaxy A54 5G has now popped up on the official Samsung portal for Macedonia.

Although the official case isn’t available for purchase as of this writing, Samsung uploaded a handful of renders that reveal the accessory. They confirm the phone’s design, including the individual circular camera cutouts and the flat glass panels sandwiching a slightly rounded metallic frame. It looks a lot like a lower-cost Galaxy S23, and that’s not a bad thing at all.

The official name is “Smart View Wallet Case.” The accessory has a screen cover with a small cutout for the Always-On Display clock, and on the opposite side of the screen cover, it features a credit card holder. The renders confirm a USB-C port on the lower edge of the phone, flanked by a microphone and a speaker grille. The Galaxy A54 carries the side key and volume rocker on the right edge.

The Smart View Wallet Case is listed in one color on the Samsung website. It’s black. However, the renders also show the accessory in lime green and lavender, so these color options may also be available once the phone goes official. As to when that might happen, rumors indicate that Samsung is preparing to announce the Galaxy A54 – alongside the Galaxy A34 – in mid-March.

The Galaxy A54 5G should be IP67-certified for dust and water resistance and feature the Exynos 1380 chipset announced by Samsung on February 23. The SoC claims to have a 20% faster GPU than the Exynos 1280 SoC. The phone should also boast a 50MP camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 5MP macro camera.

Thanks for the tip, Kamil!

Funny, Samsung’s budget phones get more updates than the Pixel 7a

Google’s Pixel 7a might be one of the new best Android mid-range phones for anyone that’s looking for a high level of performance at a lower price, especially now that we can’t quite recommend the Galaxy A54 due to general UI performance issues seemingly caused by a lack of optimization around the Exynos 1380 SoC. I can’t recommend mid-range Galaxy smartphones right now, here’s why

Compared to the first half a decade or so after Samsung first started making Android phones, the company’s mid-range phones have come a long way in terms of the features they offer and how they perform in day-to-day use. Well, when it comes to the latter, even flagship Galaxy phones were rather embarrassing for the […]

The Galaxy A54 isn’t the fastest, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone

A short performance demonstration featuring the Galaxy A54 is making the rounds on Twitter, and it’s not helping its case. As much as the phone improved in different areas, performance in the general UI is still lacking, and the recent tweet appears to attract a lot of attention for the wrong (or right) reasons. Although […]
