More specifically, in 2021, Samsung sold 5.6 times more foldable phones in the Netherlands than in 2020. The new Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 attracted many more customers this time around, as they improved upon their predecessors with additions like water resistance and S Pen support (for the larger foldable model).
Samsung also reconfirmed that worldwide Galaxy foldable phone sales quadrupled since August when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 got revealed. Furthermore, the latest foldable phones convinced more people to join Samsung's product ecosystem than other, non-foldable flagship series before.
And now, customers in the Netherlands can also benefit from the Samsung Care+ program that went live in December in six European countries. It's a great thing, of course, as the program's debut makes it easier for customers to keep their expensive foldable premium phones insured for damage and even theft.
All things considered, market watchers expect worldwide foldable phone shipments to increase tenfold by 2023, and in its latest press release, Samsung is seemingly on the same page as the analysts.
