Samsung has a couple of One UI apps that bring the community together through monthly challenges. The ubiquitous Health platform invites fitness enthusiasts to partake in walking challenges throughout the month, and the more artistically inclined PENUP app brings digital artists together to draw and explore two new themes every month. Here are the Health and PENUP challenges for January 2024.

For Samsung Health, this month's theme is ‘Igloo.' The challenge's official description reads:

“Cold winter, warm thoughts. It may be cold outside, but the crisp air can be invigorating!

Start your New Year with the Igloo Challenge. You'll be healthier and happier.”

For PENUP users, the first Drawing Challenge of the year is “Road.” The official description says:

“We encounter different paths every day. You may go to work or school through the road in front of your house, or you may take a walk along a tree-lined trail or a path between grassy forests.”

“To get to your destination, you pass through an alley, walk on a busy road with many people, or take a unique route at a travel destination.”

The challenge invites PENUP users to draw a road, but it's up to the participants to decide which type of road they should create in their drawings. Will it be a rural path? Or a busy asphalt-clad road? Or maybe you'll want to incorporate an igloo into the PENUP road drawing. It's up to you.

Samsung Health users can participate in the January 2024 challenge by opening the app and accessing the “Together” tab. As of this writing, there are 28 more days left on this Health challenge.

Samsung PENUP users can join the “Let's Draw Road” challenge for the first half of January from the “Challenges” tab. Remember that PENUP usually offers two monthly challenges, so the “Road” one ends on January 15.

Samsung has not participated in the mergers and acquisitions market for more than 7 years, despite having more than $60 billion in cash that it could use to buy new companies. Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

I'm a big fan of Samsung using proper nouns to label most of its home electronics. For instance, PC monitors names are no longer just a string of seemingly random letters and numbers. Instead, they belong to lineups named ‘Odyssey' or ‘ViewFinity.' It makes Samsung look better instead of coming across as a company that […]
