TL;DR

  • Samsung is not extending its usual free storage upgrade promo for the new foldables outside South Korea.
  • In South Korea, preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 include a free jump from 256GB to 512GB.
  • South Korea also gets the lowest prices, while other markets see at least a $100 price increase over last year's models.

In recent years, Samsung has offered a free storage upgrade during the pre-order period for its flagship and foldable phones in most markets, including the United States. That's not the case for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8, and Z Flip 8, as long as you're not in South Korea.

In addition to Samsung offering the lowest prices for these foldables anywhere, South Korea also gets the free double storage promotion on the new foldables during pre-orders.

Customers in South Korea have it best

A quick check of Samsung's online store in South Korea shows that it's offering customers a free upgrade from 256GB to 512GB on all three new foldable phones during the pre-order period.

It's no surprise that the company has a soft spot for its home country. In South Korea, the new foldables are roughly 20% cheaper compared to the United States.

Customers who buy these foldables during the pre-order period are arguably getting the best deal on Samsung's latest devices. It really doesn't get any better than this.
