Samsung has released a new version of the Samsung Internet beta browser on Windows, addressing some basic functionality that was previously missing in split view and the side panel.
Previously, when activating split view, newly opened tabs wouldn’t display a background image like the standard new tab page. That’s now been fixed.
The side panel has also received a useful improvement. Until now, pop-up blocking didn’t work there, meaning websites could still show pop-ups even if blocking was enabled. With the latest Samsung Internet beta update, that issue has been resolved.
The latest update carries version number 29.0.0.151 and will be installed automatically the next time you run the browser on your computer.
If you haven’t tried Samsung Internet for PC yet, you can download it today from the official website. The browser is still in beta and is expected to remain so for the foreseeable future, but it already works well and includes most of the features you’ll find in other desktop browsers, as well as in Samsung Internet on Android.
