The Korean tech conglomerate's component division, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, will get 70% of orders for the new 200MP ISOCELL sensor. Samsung Electronics and its other partners are said to manufacture the remaining 30% of orders — via ETNews.
Having completed the final design, Samsung is reportedly ramping up production for the so-called ISOCELL HP3 sensor to have it ready in time for its next flagship smartphone series in 2023. Namely, the Galaxy S23 could be the first Samsung device to use the 200MP ISOCELL HP3.
Some of you may know that Samsung already has a 200MP camera ready, called the ISOCELL HP1. But just a friendly reminder that the upcoming 200MP sensor for the Galaxy S23 is not the same as the HP1.
The so-called ISOCELL HP3 is an upgraded version of the HP1, though in what ways remains unclear. As a point of reference, the HP1 can record 8K and 4K videos and boasts features like advanced HDR and Double Super Phase Detection autofocus.
Aside from keeping hardware details under wraps, Samsung is also keeping quiet regarding the launch of the Galaxy S23. At least, for now. It's too early to set anything in stone; nevertheless, Galaxy fans expect the company to host an Unpacked event for its future flagship early next year.
Leaks will probably start pouring in a bit later in 2022, so if you don't mind spoiling your fun at Unpacked, stay tuned, and we'll keep you up to speed as soon as more details about the Galaxy S23 series emerge.
