The 2022 model recently went up for pre-order at Amazon Italy, and Samsung may have prepared the tablet for a global launch on the same day. The latter has yet to be confirmed, but Amazon Italy now displays a tentative June 1 shipping date for the Tab S6 Lite.
Back to Samsung's plans for India, support pages are now going live in anticipation of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) release, which could be taking place next month. We'll keep you posted as soon as precise launch details become available.
Samsung's refreshed Lite-branded tablet for 2022 is nearly identical to the original model released in 2020. However, it boasts two primary upgrades.
On the hardware side, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) replaces the 10nm Exynos 9611 chipset with an 8nm Snapdragon 720G SoC, which should provide better performance in gaming and virtually all other use cases.
As far as the software is concerned, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) ships with Android 12 and One UI 4.1, meaning Samsung will support the tablet with at least two major Android OS upgrades. Therefore, the 2022 model is a wiser purchase compared to the original Tab S6 Lite because of this firmware upgrade alone.
Pricing details for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) in India remain unknown, but as a rough point of reference, Amazon Italy is offering the base Wi-Fi-only model for €399 (INR 33,137).
