Well, not really. Samsung has made a pretty big deal of advertising that its flagship devices now get seven years of Android OS and security upgrades. That's true for the company's tablets as well.
So unless you've been living under a rock, it won't come as a surprise to you that the Galaxy Tab S11 series has been held to that same standard.
Samsung has confirmed today that the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra will receive Android OS upgrades and security updates for seven years. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S10 series, is similarly promised seven upgrades.
The new tablet lineup comes with One UI 8 and Android 16 out of the box. This means that the new tablets will be supported until Android 23 and whichever One UI version corresponds to that seven years in the future.
Samsung already enjoys a unique position in the Android tablet market. There aren't that many OEMs still making flagship Android tabets, and fewer still that can match the power and capabilities of its Galaxy Tab S Ultra lineup.
The company tops it all off with one of the best software upgrade policies in the Android ecosystem, ensuring that whoever buys a model from the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup is guaranteed to receive new features and improvements far beyond what they'll likely keep the tablet for.
