One UI 6 (Android 14) rollout for the Galaxy S23 series has gone limp

Has your Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, or Galaxy S23 Ultra received the One UI 6.0 (Android 14) update, or are you still running Android 13/One UI 5.1? If you're in the latter camp, you're not as alone as you might think.

The official One UI 6 rollout for the Galaxy S23 lineup began on October 30 for both Android 13 users and those who were testing the beta version of Android 14, and it expanded a couple of days later to cover over two dozen countries. However, it seems Samsung has hit a snag and the update's availability isn't expanding as quickly as we had hoped.

In fact, the pace of the rollout has gotten considerably slow, and very few countries received the update over the weekend. Samsung has also not released the update in major markets such as the USA, and Korea has been left out of the loop as well.

It's unclear why Samsung's progress has slowed down. In our experience, the stable One UI 6 update is, well, pretty stable, but it can take time to fully optimize a big new OS update for every user. And that's probably the case here, as Samsung has been testing newer builds of One UI 6 in the USA and some other countries after it started the initial rollout at the end of October.

So, again, if your Galaxy S23/S23+/S23 Ultra hasn't been updated to Android 14/One UI 6 yet, you're not alone. If it helps, you will possibly get a more stable version of the update as a reward for waiting longer than others, or at least a build that has a newer security patch than the one included in the original release.
