There is a common belief among tech enthusiasts that Samsung launches too many phones for its own good, probably slowing down the process of software development and release of updates. However, sales figures reveal that its strategy of offering something for everyone works quite well. The company is the biggest smartphone maker in the world in terms of unit sales. In fact, its rare Galaxy Jump smartphone series, which is only available in South Korea, did pretty well in terms of sales.

The Galaxy Jump series, which has been launched in collaboration with South Korean cellular carrier KT, has reached cumulative sales of 1.5 million units over the past three years. KT announced these numbers yesterday, just a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy Jump 3 (also known as Galaxy M44 5G). The original Galaxy Jump, which was launched in 2021, has reached sales of over 500,00 units, while Galaxy Jump 2 sales crossed over a million units. The Galaxy Jump 2 features a quad-camera setup and is very popular with parents and aged consumers. It was shipped with some exclusive features like remote control, voice phishing prevention, and a simple YouTube widget.

Kim Byeong-gyun, Managing Director of KT's Device Business Division, said, “We will continue to make efforts to provide smartphones and services that customers want at a reasonable price.

The Galaxy Jump 3 was launched in South Korea last month with a price tag of KRW 400,000 ($310). It features an old but still powerful Snapdragon 888 processor, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone has a microSD card slot, too. It is optimized for those who want to watch videos and play high-end games on their smartphone.

It sports a 6.6-inch PLS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 50MP primary rear camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 13MP selfie camera. Its primary rear and front cameras can record 4K 30fps videos. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
