Samsung launches credit card in the US to compete with Apple Card

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Card in the US. It is a Visa credit card issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank that offers cash rewards on eligible Samsung products. The card has arrived just in time for the upcoming launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.

It will compete directly with the Apple Card, which is a similar cash back rewards credit card.

The Galaxy Card is Samsung's first direct credit card in the US. It has a premium metal design with a black Samsung logo and is designed to integrate with the company's ecosystem of products. It offers daily cash rewards and financing options for eligible Samsung products purchased through Samsung's website and retail stores. The card naturally integrates with Samsung Wallet and is secured by Samsung Knox.

Galaxy Card users also receive 20% off a Samsung VIP Advantage membership and earn 5% cash back when purchasing or renewing that membership.

Samsung has started accepting Galaxy Card applications from select customers. General availability will begin tomorrow, July 22, 2026, through Samsung's website and at Samsung retail stores across the US. New cardholders can earn a bonus of up to $200 if they spend $2,000 within the first 90 days of opening a Galaxy Card account.

Earlier, Samsung offered a similar cash back rewards debit card called Samsung Money by SoFi. It was managed by SoFi (Social Finance, Inc.), which is a fully digital bank operated in the US. Reports about a Samsung Card to directly compete with the Apple Card first appeared last year. The company already has similar credit card offerings in India and South Korea.
