Chromebooks are some of the most affordable gateways to portable computing, and Samsung has some of the best. The Galaxy Chromebook 2, which was the company's first ChromeOS notebook to feature QLED display technology, is now available at a discount from Amazon.

The 13.3-inch Galaxy Chromebook 2 has a QLED 1920 x 1080 display. It's powered by an Intel processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or 16GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The ongoing deal at Amazon applies to all three models, but values differ by color options. For the 4GB+64GB Galaxy Chromebook 2, prospective buyers get a 19% discount. They can buy this variant for $290 instead of the usual $360 price, but they have to pick the Mercury Gray color.

Customers who want the 8GB+128GB variant also get a 13% discount on the Mercury Gray variant. It brings the $799 price down to $699. Or they can choose to save 6% on the Fiesta Red color option.

And lastly, the top-of-the-line 16GB+128GB model is available for $799 instead of $899, as long as you pick the Fiesta Red color.

It's worth noting that Samsung equipped the 4GB+64GB Galaxy Chromebook 2 with an Intel Celeron 5205U processor, whereas the variants with 8GB and 16GB of RAM sport a more competent Intel Core-i3 CPU, hence the considerable price difference between them and the 4GB+64GB configuration.
