The Galaxy A33 One UI 6.1 update has been available in Europe and select markets in other regions for two weeks and has now made it to Samsung's home country. Korean Galaxy A33 users can download the update over the air from the phone's Settings » Software update » Download and install menu.
Story continues after the video…
The over-the-air update is a 2GB download, so you will want to make sure you have the requisite bandwidth if you're using cellular data for the download. Once One UI 6.1 is installed, you will have access to features and improvements such as smoother animations, improved image clipping, new home screen widgets and wallpaper editing options, and new battery protection options.
The update also comes with the May 2024 security patch, so you are also getting the latest security enhancements with One UI 6.1. Of course, this won't be the last major One UI (or Android) update for your phone. Far from it, actually: the Galaxy A33 is also eligible for Android 15 and Android 16 and the One UI versions that will accompany them.
Just don't expect any of the excellent AI features on your Galaxy A33 with either One UI 6.1 or future updates. Samsung isn't offering Galaxy AI on mid-range phones as of May 2024, and while that may change eventually, the company is unlikely to bring the Galaxy AI experience to older mid-rangers like the Galaxy A33 or the Galaxy A53.
