Samsung Find has a very useful feature that lets you share your location with loved ones and also find where they are if they've shared theirs with you. It transmits approximate data over the internet which can then be used to narrow down the search area.
However, if network access is lost, you won't be able to locate the person further beyond where it last transmitted from. A new update may soon get rid of this limitation.
It has emerged that Samsung is working on a Satellite mode for Find. The page for this mode was discovered in version 1.8.00.16 of the Samsung Find app and shared by @ThatJoshGuy.
The description clearly mentions that the location will be shared once every 15 minutes when in satellite mode. When this mode is turned off, location sharing stops automatically.
This will be a very handy feature, particularly if you often find yourself in places where cellular connectivity is bad or doesn't exist. It ensures that people who care for you have some idea of where you are and can help arrange assistance if needed.
It was also discovered in the app that fallback options may be offered if location transmission over satellite fails. You'd be able to share the location through a one-time text message, as it won't update live, but at least it would give people tracking you an idea of where you are.
