It has been just a month since Samsung released One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54, and now the brand appears to have started working on releasing One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for both devices.
Firmware files for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 running One UI 9.0 have been spotted on Samsung's servers (via Mohammed Khatri and Tarun Vats). They carry firmware versions A556BXXUFEZF7 and A546BXXUKGZF1, respectively.
The appearance of these firmware files suggests that Samsung has begun internal development and testing of One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54, bringing the next major software update one step closer to release.
Based on Android 17, One UI 9.0 is expected to introduce additional user interface customization options along with a host of new features. You can check out some of the expected changes in our video below.
Samsung is expected to begin rolling out the update to eligible devices after it launches its next-generation foldable smartphones.
