Samsung has developed a “Galaxy Watch Charging Cradle” and has listed the unreleased device on its USA portal. The Charging Cradle is not yet available for purchase, and there's no price tag attached to this accessory, but prospective buyers have the option of signing up to receive stock alerts.
There are no specifications listed on the company's website, and all things considered, this product may have been developed after the launch of the Galaxy Watch 5 series rather than before. It seems as though this device was never meant to hit the market but had to be developed as a workaround for the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro's wrist strap design flaw.
Samsung will most likely sell this device as an optional accessory for Galaxy Watch customers. In other words, the company is capitalizing on its own mistakes.
As of this writing, Samsung hasn't shared any details about the Galaxy Watch Charging Cradle, save for a couple of renders you can see on its website or in the image gallery below. The Charging Cradle has a gray finish to match the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro carrying the same color, but it's unclear if Samsung will make additional colors available for the cradle.
Pricing and release date details are missing. We'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment below and let us know if you think Galaxy Watch 5 Pro owners should get a discount on this upcoming Charging Cradle or if it's fair for Samsung to sell it at full price to everyone, considering that it has a completely new design.
