In 2024, Samsung was the biggest TV brand in the world, as it had been for the last nineteen years in a row. The company’s QD-OLED TVs, especially, have been flying off the shelves, thanks to the amazing performance of Samsung Display’s panels. Well, with these TVs, the South Korean tech giant has achieved a new milestone.
According to Omdia (via ET News), Samsung shipped the highest number of OLED TVs in North America in Q1 2025, surpassing LG and becoming the number one OLED TV brand in the region for the first time. The research firm reports that Samsung and LG had 50.3% and 34.5% share, respectively, in the OLED market in the last quarter.
For comparison, in Q1 2024, Samsung had a 36% share and LG had a 44.2% share in the OLED market. That’s a 12.5 percentage point jump in a year, which is commendable. Recently, Samsung launched its new lineup of OLED TVs, which includes the S95F, S90F, and S85F. They offer significant improvements over their predecessors. These models should help the brand retain the number one position for quite some time.
Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels for monitors are also doing quite well, with a number of brands adopting them for their gaming monitors. Samsung System LSI’s ISOCELL 200MP cameras have also been in high demand lately. Considering these factors, it looks like 2025 is going to be a great year for Samsung and its subsidiaries.
