Samsung's best and only 3D monitor is now cheaper in the UK

Samsung did the unexpected earlier this year and released a new glasses-free 3D monitor. The 3D display trend has been dormant for a few years now, but Samsung rekindled the concept this year using new and improved technologies, including AI.

As mentioned above, the Odyssey 3D is a glasses-free 3D monitor. It achieves the 3D effect through the clever use of cameras and lenticular lens technology.

In essence, the Odyssey 3D's camera system tracks the user's eyes. It then uses this information to render the image from two different perspectives, one for each eye, and create a stereoscopic effect. AI and clever algorithms are also involved in the process.

The monitor has relatively steep system requirements for the 3D effect, and there are some limitations regarding which content can be converted from 2D to 3D. For one, copyrighted movies are not supported. As for gaming, it depends on which developer supports the system.
