Samsung appoints a new head for its TV business

He is considered an expert in content, marketing, and services, and could help Samsung Visual Display achieve growth.

Samsung has announced a new leadership change for its Visual Display division, which is responsible for monitors, soundbars, and TVs. Samsung Electronics President Won-Jin Lee has been appointed as the new head of the Visual Display division.

Samsung Device Experience (DX) is a division of Samsung Electronics that includes five businesses:

  1. Samsung Digital Appliances (home appliances like dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, and washing machines)
  2. Samsung Health & Medical Equipment (medical scanners and more)
  3. Samsung MX (earbuds, laptops, smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, XR devices)
  4. Samsung Networks (cellular network infrastructure)
  5. Samsung Visual Display (monitors, soundbars, and TVs)

Won-Jin Lee will now lead the Visual Display division. He previously headed the Global Marketing Office and is considered an expert in content, marketing, and services. He has also played a key role in establishing the foundation of Samsung’s mobile and TV businesses. With his expertise in market insights, Samsung expects him to strengthen the TV business and identify new growth opportunities.

Seok Woo Yong, who previously led Samsung Visual Display, will now serve as an advisor to Tae Moon Roh, who heads the Samsung Device Experience division. With extensive experience in research and development, he is expected to help shape strategies for future technologies such as AI and robotics across all DX businesses.
