As technologically advanced as Samsung's Galaxy XR headset may be, it represents only one step toward a more AR/XR-centric future. Google and Samsung are said to be planning several other AR and AI glasses, and two model numbers have surfaced so far.

The SM-O200P appeared late last year, and our colleagues at GalaxyClub have now confirmed that this pair of Galaxy Glasses (tentative name) features a 12MP camera with autofocus. In addition, the source recently uncovered another Galaxy Glasses model number: SM-O200J.

At first glance, the two identifiers might suggest regional variants of the same device. However, that may not be the case, as both the SM-O200P and SM-O200J are seemingly intended for the same markets.

Instead, each model number may correspond to a different device. As to how they differ, GalaxyClub speculates that the “P” could stand for “photochromatic,” implying that the SM-O200P could feature transition lenses. It's unclear what the “J” in SM-O200J may or may not represent.

Samsung has yet to officially outline its short-term XR strategy, but the company could expand its lineup later this year.

As far as Google's ambitions for Android XR go, the company aims to support optical see-through headsets, AR Glasses, and AI Glasses, in addition to the existing video see-through Galaxy XR design.
