Samsung announced on February 14 that it will hold its 54th general meeting for shareholders on March 15, 2023. The general meeting will be held at the Suwon Convention Center in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The meeting will include discussions on the approval of the financial statement, the appointment of Jong-Hee Han as an inside director, and the approval of the limit on remuneration for directors.

Since 2020, Samsung Electronics has also introduced an electronic voting system that gives its shareholders the power to exercise their voting rights without needing to be physically present at the meeting. Shareholders can electronically vote from 9:00 AM on March 5 to 5:00 PM on March 14. Samsung Electronics shareholders can exercise their voting rights via the voting button for each item on the agenda of the general meeting.

Also, the electronic voting system of the Korea Securities Depository has enabled 24-hour electronic voting for the convenience of shareholders since 2020. Samsung has also taken steps to reduce paper usage and replaced mailings for shareholders with electronic announcements of the electronic public disclosure system (DART). This will enable Samsung to save up to 35 million sheets of paper.

For the convenience of the shareholders, Samsung has also been broadcasting the general meeting online since 2021. Pre-registration for the general meeting can be done via the Samsung Electronics website. Shareholders can register their questions for each agenda item, and the application period is the same as the duration for the electronic voting.
