The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, ever since its official launch, has created a buzz around the internet. Some tech journalists have even touted the Galaxy S23 Ultra as the ‘phone of the year' already. While we have to wait and test out the phone to arrive at that particular conclusion, one thing that is safe to say is that the phone is an absolute beast.

Famous Hollywood director Ridley Scott took the phone for a spin and shot a short film on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's astronomical 200MP camera. Spoiler alert! The short film looks like it was shot with an expensive film camera.

Check out what a Hollywood director can do with the Galaxy S23 Ultra

Ridley Scott is known for films like The Martian, Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator, and more. He was given early access to the phone to shoot the short film on Samsung's newest flagship.

He then directed the short film ‘Behold,' which was also showcased during the Unpacked event where the Galaxy S23 series debuted. The film is just under 4 minutes in length and has a theme of “one young man who finds that good things and good behavior are a way out of his dark world.

Throughout the short film, Scott used the Galaxy S23 Ultra along with some other equipments to capture low-light scenes, which show off the Galaxy S23 Ultra's amazing low-light capabilities. The footage has been enhanced and color-graded (which is quite obvious), but it still doesn't look like it has been shot on a smartphone camera.

The company's entire marketing push for the Galaxy S23 Ultra revolves around its camera. It wants to make it clear to customers that this is the best smartphone camera experience they can get. This short film, albeit a marketing effort from Samsung, clearly shows that its latest flagship lives up to expectations.

Samsung's goal in enlisting an acclaimed Hollywood director was to demonstrate that its flagship is capable of competing with Apple. We all know that Apple iPhones are known for their video-capturing quality, but this year, the crown could go either way.
