Pocketpair has announced that it will release Palword on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows on 19 January 2024 at 12:00 AM PST. That’s not all though, the developer has also announced that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the first day of the release, allowing people with a membership to the subscription service to play the title on Microsoft’s platforms without paying any additional money.

    Releasing in early access

According to the listing of Palworld on Steam, the game will be in early access for at least one year from the date of release. It means that the development of the title is not yet complete and Pocketpair will keep working on the game during that period to add new features or improve it. At least that would be the case on Windows. There’s no information if the same would also apply to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.

What is the Palworld game about?

Palworld is a Pokemon-like open-world, survival, and crafting game that you can play in single-player mode or multi-player mode with up to 32 people. The developer says “In this game, you can peacefully live alongside mysterious creatures known as Pals or risk your life to drive off a ruthless poaching syndicate. Pals can be used to fight, or they can be made to work on farms or factories. You can even sell them or eat them!
