OnePlus Watch 3, OnePlus' upcoming WearOS-based smartwatch, uses a 631mAh “Silicon NanoStack Battery,” up from the regular 500mAh battery used in the OnePlus Watch 2.
The company claims that it offers a 5-day battery life (120 hours) in Smart Mode and a 16-day battery life in Power Save Mode. That is 2x of what Samsung claims with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Samsung says the Galaxy Watch Ultra can last up to 60 hours in regular mode and 100 hours in power-saving mode.
This extremely long battery life can be attributed to the dual-processor approach that OnePlus takes with its smartwatches. The OnePlus Watch 3 uses two processors: Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 and Bestechnic BES2800.
The Snapdragon W5 is used when you are actively using the smartwatch, while the BES2800 MCU (now using a 6nm fabrication process) is used when the smartwatch is in sleep mode or not doing anything strenuous. However, this arrangement can sometimes result in slight lags when you wake up the watch from sleep and start using something heavy.
The OnePlus Watch 3 also uses a titanium hybrid alloy for bezels, stainless steel for the rest of the frame, and Sapphire Crystal display protection. It also features all the sensors you generally find in modern smartwatches.
The upcoming smartwatch will be launched in Canada, European markets, and the US on February 18. Its price hasn't been released yet, but it will likely cost the same as the OnePlus Watch 2 ($300).
