On Samsung’s server, firmware files for the Galaxy M56 and the Galaxy M35 featuring One UI 9.0 (Android 17) have been spotted (via Mohammed Khatri).

It suggests that the South Korean tech giant has started working on releasing its latest Android skin for its smartphones for the two Galaxy M series devices.

Samsung unveiled One UI 9.0 by releasing its beta version for the Galaxy S26 in May. While it doesn’t offer many visual changes, it does bring more UI customisation options and new features. That includes a more customisable Quick Panel, improvements and new features for Game Booster, Samsung DeX, and Samsung Notes, as well as enhancements and new options for many accessibility functionalities.

Samsung is expected to showcase the stable version of its new Android skin for the first time on its upcoming flagship foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The brand is said to start rolling it out to older devices soon after, in a phased manner. The Galaxy M56 and the Galaxy M35, being older and mid-range models, may get it after newer and more expensive ones.
