Almost a month ago, Samsung's upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8.0 for Galaxy phones leaked. We got our hands on it and we gave you its overview. Now, the brand has released an update to the Calculator app on One UI 8 (via Tarun Vats).
Carrying version 12.5.00.17, the latest update for the Calculator app brings a small yet very useful change that many of you might have wished for, and that is, it gives the app the ability to show the scientific mode in portrait orientation.
Earlier, when you tapped on the Scientific mode, the Calculator showed it in landscape orientation, which forced people to rotate their devices. Not anymore. Now, when you tap on it, the app shows it right above the number pad, which is more convenient to use than before. You can check it out in the image below.
At the moment, there's no information if Samsung will keep this feature exclusive to One UI 8.0 or offer it on older versions one One UI as well. If you are running the leaked version of One UI 8, you can get the latest update for Samsung Calculator by going to Galaxy Store » Menu » Updates.
Google is expected to release the stable version of Android 16 next month, almost three months earlier than it usually releases a new version of Android. As a result of that, and to make up for delaying the rollout of One UI 7.0, Samsung is expected to release One UI 8.0 earlier than usual.
