One UI 8.5 is proving to be a significant update, bringing new features and UI design changes. While it is still based on Android 16, it could still bring smiles to users’ faces early next year. A recent leak suggests that One UI 8.5 will offer ultimate Quick Panel customization.
A few days ago, some One UI 8.5 firmware files were leaked. Since then, developers have been exploring possible new features and UI changes, and one such change has appeared on X (from Wr3cckl3ss). It reveals that Samsung is making Quick Panel a lot more customizable. It appears that each quick setting toggle's position and size can be changed, based on your preference. You can see it in the screenshots below.
If you like Bluetooth, Mobile Data, and Wi-Fi toggles nice and large, you can set them that way. Moreover, you can completely customize the placement of each quick setting toggle. Don't like a toggle in the Quick Panel, you can remove them altogether. However, these are just early builds of One UI 8.5, and there is a possibility that Samsung might roll back those changes with the stable release.
This customization is similar to what Apple introduced with iOS 18 and Google with Android 16. It would be great to know if SmartThings and Smart View shortcuts can be removed altogether from the Quick Panel in One UI 8.5, as those are the toggles people hate the most.
