The My Files app can help you clear storage to make space for photos and videos.

Several One UI 8.5 features have leaked over the past few weeks. Even the official One UI 8.5 changelog was leaked recently. However, one new feature that it brings to the My Files (stock file manager) app wasn't mentioned in the official changelog, and it helps you prepare your phone for upcoming trips.
The My Files app could get smarter in the near future. Android Authority has discovered text strings in One UI 8.5's code that reveal how it can detect your upcoming trips. Then, the My Files app could prompt you to delete some low-priority files on your phone's storage to make room for photos and videos that you might capture during your trip or vacation.
There are three ways a Galaxy phone could use to know about your upcoming trips. It could either read your calendar events, scan your boarding passes or travel tickets, or track your location. It isn't clear which technique it would use, though, and things will only get clearer in the near future, as Samsung will soon release the first One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series.
One UI 8.5 will bring a new design language to all the stock apps, featuring a compact (pill-shaped) tab bar at the bottom. It will also make more apps and features compatible with the Now Bar. It also allows you to completely customise the Quick Panel. It also brings a smarter Bixby that can answer your questions, control smart home devices, and store your previous conversations.
It is also making Quick Share smarter by suggesting people you can share images with, based on family members and friends it finds in those images. It also brings Storage Share and improved Auracast broadcasts to Galaxy phones. For more One UI 8.5 features, check out its full changelog here or watch our video below.
