While Samsung released the beta version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series, the company hasn't revealed all the features that are coming to future Galaxy phones. One such feature is a newer version of Bixby, which could debut with the Galaxy S26 next month. A new leak gives us the first look at the next-generation Bixby, its UI design, and all its new features.
A video of the upcoming version of Bixby running on the Galaxy S25 was posted on X. When you long-press the power button, it shows up as a hovering text box at the bottom of the screen where you can ask about anything. It uses Perplexity to find information about that topic from the internet. Tapping the Perplexity button shows web search results, powered by Perplexity's search engine.
Welcome to 2026 everyone! Let's start this year off with a banger. A look at the new Bixby, powered by Perplexity.

You can open the app in full screen by tapping on the Bixby icon in the app drawer. It has a ChatGPT and Gemini-like UI design, featuring a text box at the bottom of the screen and a hamburger menu on the top left corner of the screen. You can start a new chat thread from the top right corner of the screen. All previous chats can be viewed from the hamburge menu.
Based on this leak, it doesn't seem to have the capability to check your screen or view your camera feed. Both ChatGPT and Gemini allow you to upload images via the camera or the gallery, while Gemini can check your phone's screen via screen sharing to help you with things.
The AI-powered digital assistant will likely allow you to control smart home devices and change device settings. Besides Samsung's own services like Bixby Briefing and Samsung Find, Bixby will also have integrations with third-party services, including Here Maps, SkyScanner, Spotify, The Weather Channel, Uber, and X (formerly Twitter).
