New update for Samsung Music for Galaxy phones brings redesigned widgets

It also brings some downgrades.

The majority of smartphone users around the world have shifted to online music streaming services. However, there are still some who prefer maintaining a personal collection of audio files on their device. For such people using Galaxy phones, Samsung offers the Samsung Music app, and now, the brand is rolling out an update to it.

The latest update for Samsung Music carries version 16.2.45 and brings two changes. First, “Partial changes to widget design.” Second, “Other bug fixes.” As for the widget redesign, the brand appears to have improved the visibility of interactive elements by making it slightly larger and adding more padding around the controls. 

However, the update also removes the 3×1 widget layout, leaving only 2×2 and 4×1 options. Another notable change is that the remaining widget layouts can no longer be resized and now have fixed dimensions. You can check out the changes in the images below.

To get the latest Samsung Music update on your Galaxy phone, go to the Galaxy Store, tap on the button showing three horizontal lines (Menu), and select Updates. Here, you should be able to see the latest update for the app. Tap on the update button in its listing, and that's it.
