The Galaxy Watch 5 series is getting a new firmware update. Or, to be precise, the LTE variants are now getting the same update the Bluetooth-only Watch 5 series received about a month ago.

The update carries firmware version R9x5FXXU1AWDA. And the most significant addition mentioned in the changelog is the skin temperature-based cycle tracking feature in Samsung Health. It was added to the Bluetooth-based watches last month, and now, it's available for the LTE variants. Once the firmware is applied, the Samsung Health will be updated to the latest version, and users will have access to the “predict period with skin temp” feature in the Cycle Tracking category.

In addition, the changelog mentions improved system stability and reliability. The firmware also comes with a new security patch, but the Galaxy Watch 5 LTE and Watch 5 Pro LTE have not caught up with the Pixel Watch. The latter received the May 2023 security update, whereas this new firmware for the Galaxy Watch 5 series features the April 2023 security patch.

Samsung is rolling out the update on the Galaxy Watch 5 LTE series in Europe and possibly other markets. To download the firmware, open the Settings app on the Galaxy Watch, scroll down to “Software update,” and tap “Download and install.”
