On Samsung’s current lineup of non-foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S25 series, the rings around the rear cameras have a different design compared to those on the brand’s previous lineup of non-foldable flagship phones, the Galaxy S24 series.
Instead of a silver ring with no design on the previous models, there’s a black ring with concentric circles on the current models, making them look like a vinyl record. Apart from coming out very easily, people haven’t been very happy with how it looks.
Leaks about Samsung’s next lineup of non-foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series, show that the brand is skipping the vinyl record camera rings in favour of rings with a design similar to those on the Galaxy S24 series. Well, we now have some more information on it.
On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe, claims that they got a chance to see part of the real Galaxy S26 Ultra in person. To that extent, they can confirm that it abandons the vinyl record-like looking camera rings in favour of “metal rings” that look similar to the camera rings on Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, albeit being noticeably narrower.
According to them, with the new rings, the Galaxy S26 Ultra looks “extremely clean and minimalistic.” While that’s a great piece of news, Samsung fans will be disappointed to know that the upcoming phone may not bring significant hardware improvements, especially in the camera department, despite costing more.
