The latest software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with firmware version S91xBXXU2AWF3. The update has a download size of around 2.2GB and brings the June 2023 security patch. The new security patch fixes over 50 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. To install the update, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install.
The update also includes various camera improvements, including the ability to capture portrait images at 2x zoom. The updated software also solves camera autofocus issues and changes the camera's image processing in Night mode. There is also an option to delete multiple motion photos from images simultaneously.
The Photo Remaster feature now corrects distortions at the edges of photos captured using the ultrawide camera. A similar distortion correction is also available for images captured using the primary camera in the 1x to 1.5x zoom range. The update also brings the option to turn off Adaptive Pixel in the Camera Assistant. This feature was recently added via the Camera Assistant app update. The sharpness of videos captured using the ultrawide camera in the Super Steady mode has been improved.
In low-light conditions, the camera's viewfinder appeared jittery, and Samsung has fixed it with the new update. In ultra-high-resolution images, the rendition of colors and sky has been improved. Samsung has also minimized the color shift in certain solid color backgrounds, bringing consistency in colors when switching between primary and telephoto cameras.
Animations and transitions in One UI are now smoother. There are subtle improvements in the haptics on the Galaxy S23 series.
