Samsung has announced a major update for the Samsung Health app on phones and tablets. Besides bringing a major UI redesign, the updated app introduces features that are supported by next-generation Galaxy Watches and makes daily health management easier with the help of AI-powered tools.
The updated app, which will start rolling out on June 8, 2026, introduces a more streamlined layout that highlights five core pillars of fitness and health: Activity, Mindfulness, Nutrition, Sleep, and Vitals. The app also displays daily wellness tips and an AI-powered Energy Score, making it easier to track different aspects of your health.

When you wake up, the new Vitals feature analyzes five key metrics, blood oxygen, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, and skin temperature, against their resting baselines and sends you a notification only when it detects a significant deviation. This can help you determine whether you need more rest or may be fighting an illness.

The Vascular Load feature, which was introduced last year, has been transformed into Heart Health Score. It focuses on long-term wellness by taking into account activity levels, body composition data, sleep, and stress. Based on those factors, the app calculates a single score that can indicate whether your habits are having a long-term impact on your well-being.

Daily Cardio Load is another new feature that calculates your daily workout load and maximum training capacity to recommend optimal workout targets and rest periods. This helps ensure that you reach your fitness goals without experiencing burnout or increasing your risk of injury.

Fitness Index, which is being introduced with the latest Samsung Health update, ensures that your exercise routine is delivering results. It analyzes daily steps, heart rate, and VO2 max and compares them with those of your peers. It then identifies your individual strengths and weaknesses and offers personalized content and goals for continuous improvement.

Samsung has also improved the Antioxidant Index feature, which now offers a clearer view of your nutritional intake. It uses daily history logs and new trend charts to help you understand how your diet is affecting your body.
The AGEs Index feature has also been improved to automatically capture overnight measurements and build a long-term overview of how your lifestyle choices are affecting your body.
Samsung is also introducing Hearing Health within the Samsung Health app. It monitors audio exposure from several sources, including Galaxy Watches, to help protect your hearing and notifies you when you have been exposed to sound levels that could be harmful. Whether you commute in a noisy environment or listen to loud music during workouts, Samsung Health can alert you when your surroundings may be affecting your hearing health.
Samsung has also hinted that its next-generation Galaxy Watches will offer more proactive health insights than ever before. Based on previous reports, Samsung will launch three new smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch 9, the Galaxy Watch 9 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
