Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone with a book-style foldable display, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, as well as the brand’s latest flagship non-foldable phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, are arguably the best devices in their segments. With that, the two have been selling in high numbers in many regions. Now, we are learning that the duo is in high demand in Japan as well.
In Japan, Samsung held an event today to commemorate the 15th anniversary of launching the Galaxy S series in the country. At the event, the brand announced that it sold 180% more units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and 150% more units of the Galaxy S25 Ultra than the Galaxy S24 Ultra in the country in the same time period.
Samsung says that to improve the sales of Galaxy smartphones and its other products in Japan, the brand is pushing sales through network carriers, electronic retailers, and online channels, as well as the company is increasing points where people can experience Samsung products physically, which includes opening more Samsung Galaxy Studio stores in the country.
The South Korean tech giant also says that it is launching limited editions of its products and conducting campaigns to push sales further. Later this year, Samsung will launch the first smartphone with a tri-folding display, as well as the world’s first Android XR headset. These products should strengthen the brand’s image in the country, which should further help it sell more devices.
